Maoist Centre leader suspended for 6 months for polygamy
KATHMANDU, Sep 18: The CPN Maoist Centre has suspended its leader under the accusation of polygamy.
Sher Bahadur Chaudhary, a member of the party's secretariat of the Sudurpaschim Province, has been suspended by the Maoists for 6 months.
The circular sent by the Maoists to its subordinate committee states, "He has made a cultural mistake and has accepted it, so the decision to suspend him from party membership for 6 months has been approved upon the recommendation of the provincial committee."
It was reported that Chaudhary, the former Chief of the Bhajan Municipality, Kailali, married another wife a while ago. After a complaint was filed in the party, he admitted his mistake.
A recent meeting of the Central Office made the decision to suspend him after his mistake was confirmed.
