Chairman Oli: Subash Nemwang was a successful politician

KATHMANDU, Sep 14: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma has said that the late Speaker and the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Chandra Nemwang, was a successful politician.

Speaking at the parliamentary party meeting of the CPN-UML on Thursday, he said that the late Nemwang was famous as a successful political at both national and international levels. He stated that Nemwang is incomparable to any other Speaker in the history of Nepal. 

Oli said that Nemwang ran the parliament without party interests and increased the dignity of the parliament. He added that Nemwang believed that the constitution and the laws should not be violated.

"If you look at the history, no one compares to him [Nemwang]. After he was elected, he really believed that we should rise about party interests, increase the dignity of the parliament, act according to the constitutional laws and honesty", Oli said, "He believed that we should bind ourselves to the law, we should not violate the law. And he was famous as a successful politician at national level and international level as well."

Chairman Oli said that Nemwang was against communal hatred. Oli mentioned that Nemwang knew about the diverse Nepalese society very well. He added that Nemwang was in favour of social harmony, social justice and national unity.

Oli recalled that the late Nemwang always stood for justice.
