All-party meeting reaches agreement, Bagmati Provincial Assembly to be held

KATHMANDU, Sep 10: The Bagmati Provincial Assembly session will be held later as the ruling party and the opposition reached an agreement during the all-party meeting held on Sunday.

The Provincial Assembly Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak called for an all-party meeting today after the opposition party kept obstructing the meetings.

In today's meeting, the government agreed to address the demands of the opposition party in a procedural manner. With this, the impasse has been lifted and the Provincial Assembly will operate regularly.

UML and RPP have been obstructing the Provincial Assembly demanding the government to implement their agreements while passing the budget for the current fiscal year 2080-81.

According to the previous agreement, the government had decided in the Cabinet meeting to allocate plans and programmes equal to Rs 450 million to UML and Rs 250 million to RPP.

The Provincial Assembly had been adjourned since the 4th of September after the discussions between the ruling party and the opposition had failed to reach a concrete conclusion.
