Lalita Niwas case: Debate concludes on behalf of Min Bahadur Gurung

KATHMANDU, Sep 7: The debate has concluded on behalf of Min Bahadur Gurung in the case of misappropriation of government land inside the "Lalita Niwas camp" in Baluwatar.

Advocates Raman Kumar Shrestha and Upendra Keshari debated on behalf of the operator of the Bhatbhateni Supermarket on Thursday.

In yesterday's debate, advocates Mani Acharya, Shambhu Pokharel, Lalit Basnet, Senior Advocate Sushil Panta, Sharad Koirala, Komal Prakash Ghimire and Shambhu Thapa debated on behalf of Gurung.

The debate on behalf of the former Survey Officer, Ghaman Kumar Karki, has started in the bench of Justice Bholanath Dhakal in the Kathmandu District Court. 

Advocates Indra Adhikari, Senior Advocates Harihar Dahal and Yuvaraj Bhandari have debated on behalf of defendant Karki.

The lawyers from Karki's side claimed that the former Survey Officer did not obtain the documents in the government land case. Advocate Indra Adhikari said that Karki went to survey the land of Baluwatar after being assigned by the Survey Department.

Senior Advocate Harihar Dahal also gave his claim that Ghaman had not corrected any documents. Another senior advocate, Yuvraj Bhandari, said that Ghaman gave the report of what he saw in the field and he didn't obtain the documents.

So far, five defendants including former Joint-Secretary Kaladhar Deuja have concluded their debate. A total of eighteen people are still under detention in the Lalita Niwas case.
