Electricity Authority receives permission to sell additional electricity to India

KATHMANDU, Sep 5: The Nepal Electricity Authority has received permission to sell an additional 180 MW of electricity to India.

Kulman Ghising, the Managing Director of the Authority, told Ratopati, "We had already sent a proposal asking for permission [to sell additional electricity]. They have given the permission now."

He also mentioned that the additional electricity will be exported to India within 1 to 2 days.

A total of 452 MW of electricity is being exported to India at present. India's Cabinet has passed the proposal of buying 10,000 MW of electricity from Nepal.
