MP Durga Rai demands legalisation of cow slaughter

KATHMANDU, Sep 5: CPN-Maoist Centre MP Durga Rai has demanded the government to legalise the killing of cows 

MP Rai said that there is a tradition of sacrificing bulls and offering their bones in Limbu culture. She demanded the laws be changed so that the Kirat community could celebrate their festivals according to their cultures.

In the meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee held on Tuesday, Rai said that Nepal is a secular country in name only and is not secular when making laws.

She stated that the country has no religion and also demanded to change the national animal of Nepal.
