"We have been discouraged by Balen's statement" - Kathmandu CDO

KATHMANDU, Sep 2: Kathmandu's Chief District Officer Jitendra Basnet has said that the security board and administration have been discouraged by Mayor Balen Shah's statement.

"A low-level traffic policeman has faithfully fulfilled his duties even at 9 pm at night. The Mayor should thank him. But we don't understand why he instead insulted, and threatened the security board and administration", he said.

"Everyone has fulfilled their responsibilities from their position. But if he says he won't obey the law, then that is another matter. This trend has discouraged us."

After the traffic police stopped the vehicle of the Metropolitan City on Saturday night, Balen insulted the government and threatened to burn the Singha Durbar through social media.
