Congress calls emergency meeting after Karki’s death, decision to close party office tomorrow

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The Nepali Congress has passed a condolence resolution on the death of former central member Dr. Rajaram Karki. The emergency central committee meeting of the Congress held at the party’s central office on Thursday morning decided to pass a condolence resolution expressing grief over Karki's death.

Chief Secretary of Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Paudel, informed that it has been decided to fly the flag at half-mast at the party's central office as well as all district offices for two days on August 24 and 25 to honour Karki.

According to Paudel, Congress will close the Central office as well as the District offices on August 25. He said that a condolence book would be kept in the central office as well as the district offices until the 13th day of Karki's demise.

According to Chief Secretary Paudel, Karki’s funeral will be held at Pashupati and a final tribute will be given.
