HoR meeting opens after nearly one month of impasse
KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The House of Representatives has opened after continuous impasse for nearly a month.
The impasse on the HoR meeting was lifted with a formal agreement between 7 nationally recognised parties to form a high-level probe commission to investigate the gold smuggling case.
The meeting of both houses of the federal Parliament had been blocked since 26th July after the primary opposition party CPN-UML took the stance of not allowing the Parliament to proceed until a high-level probe commission was formed.
Deputy Prime Minister and the Defense Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka, addressed the parliament meeting on Wednesday. He informed the houses about the agreement between the parties.
