Koshi Chief Minister Thapa receives vote of confidence
MORANG, Aug 21: The Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, has received the vote of confidence.
The opposition party UML has accused the ruling coalition of rigging the voting and said it will reject the decision.
As there are 93 MPs in the provincial assembly, the Chief Minister needed the approval of 47 MPs for the vote of confidence. However, since Congress MP Mansuri had to conduct the Provincial Assembly, only 46 MPs were eligible for voting from the coalition.
Israil Mansuri called MP Geeta Timsina during the voting and allowed her to become the Speaker. He voted in favour of Thapa but the opposition party started protesting and shouting slogans.

Thapa received 47 votes in favour of the vote of confidence and 30 votes against it. Other MPs were absent from the assembly with the aim of failing the vote of confidence.
