Chief Minister Thapa submits proposal for vote of confidence
BIRATNAGAR, Aug 21: The Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, has submitted a proposal for taking the vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly. The discussion on the matter has started, following his proposal.
As there are 93 MPs in the provincial assembly, the Chief Minister needs the approval of 47 MPs for the vote of confidence. 29 MPs from Congress, 13 from Maoist Centre, 4 from Unified Socialists and 1 from JSP total to 47 from the coalition.
However, since Congress MP Mansuri has to conduct the Provincial Assembly, only 46 MPs are eligible for voting from the coalition. According to sources, the coalition is planning to participate Mansuri in the voting as well.
From the opposition, there are 40 MPs from UML and 6 MPs from RPP. The government led by Uddhav Thapa was formed on the 2nd of August with the held of Congress, Maoist and, Unified Socialists and JSP.
