All-party meeting postponed due to Oli's absence
KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had called for an all-party meeting to end the ongoing obstruction in parliament.
The all-party meeting - held at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers - was postponed until Monday tomorrow after KP Sharma Oli, the Chairman of the primary opposition party CPN-UML, didn't show up in the meeting.
CPN-UML has been continuously obstructing the parliament demanding the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the gold smuggling case.
Maoist Parliamentary Party's Chief Whip, Hitraj Pandey, told Ratopati that the meeting can only proceed with Oli's presence. "The meeting on the topic of lifting the obstruction was positive, so we have decided to hold another meeting tomorrow as it is necessary to discuss with Mr Oli to lift reach a decision," said Pandey.
