Leader Oli absent in all-party meeting called by Prime Minister

KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The primary opposition party CPN-UML's Chairman, KP Sharma Oli, was absent from the all-party meeting called by the Prime Minister.

UML's Deputy Chairman and the Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Party, Subash Nemwang, and Chief Whip Padam Giri are present in the party in place of Chairman Oli. Some leaders from the UML side informed that Chairman Oli could not be present in the meeting due to a busy schedule.

Leaders from other parties including the President of Nepal Congress Sher Bahadur Deuwa and Deputy President Purna Bahadur Khadka are present in the meeting. From the Maoist side, Prime Minister and the Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Senior Deputy Chairman and the Home Minister, Narayankaji Shrestha, and Chief Whif Hitraj Pandey are present in the meeting.

Similarly, the Chairman of Rastriya Swatantrata Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, leader Santosh Pariyar, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)'s Rajendra Lingden and Anita Devi from Janamat are also present in the all-party meeting.

Prime Minister Prachanda called for this meeting after CPN-UML continuously obstructed the Parliament demanding the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the gold smuggling case.
