Speaker Ghimire and PM Dahal meet
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held a discussion to remove the obstruction of the parliament on Friday morning.
In the discussion, PM Dahal said that he will also make an effort to re-open the parliament and also requested Speaker Ghimire to help. PM Dahal said that an understanding must be made in order to resume the parliament meetings, so he will make additional efforts to discuss with the leaders of the opposition parties.
Speaker Ghimire, saying that it is not good for the parliament to not run, told that even though the MPs asked for time to speak, they didn’t get to speak on issues like Natural calamities. He also said that the leadership of the parliamentary committee could not be selected due to which, the law has not been made in the parliament. He stated that he has made an effort and taken the initiative for consensus, but an agreement has not been reached even after discussions between the leaders for hours.
Demanding the formation of a high-level investigation committee, CPN UML has been continuously obstructing the parliament meeting since July 26.
