Rolpa Bus Accident update: Victims identified

BUTWAL, Aug 8: The victims of the bus accident in Rolpa have been identified. 

The bus accident took place this afternoon at Richi village road section in Triveni Rural Municipality-7 in Rolpa. Four people died on the spot and nineteen people were injured in the bus accident. 

Rolpa District Police Office DSP, Shyam Saru Magar, told Ratopati that the Madi Rural Municipality, Rolpa's residents Prakash Batha, 22, Gorkhe Dangi, 51, and his wife Hasta Dangi, 50, are among the deceased. Similarly, Pariwartan Rural Municipality-3's resident Bhakta Bik, 46, also passed away in the accident.

Among the injured are Rolpa Madi-6's Navin Budha Magar, 14, Rolpa Tribeni-7's Kaman Singh Sunar, 62, Rolpa Municipality-6's Kaman Singh Gharti Magar, 25, and Rolpa Madi-4's 9-year-old Milan Dangi.

Similarly, Rolpa Madi-6's  Mukesh Pun, 15, Rolpa Madi-2's Jitesh Batha, 20, Rolpa Madi-7's Himani Gharti Magar, 23 and his 11-year-old son Olsan Gharti Magar are among the injured.

Rolpa Madi-4's Kabita Khadka, 22 and her 5-year-old son Yush Khadka, Madi-4's Mina Dangi, 26, Rolpa Madi-2's Tirpana Batha, 28, Rolpa Pariwartan-3's Khumbu Budha, 24, Rolpa Tribeni-2's Purnima Budha, 17, Tribeni-2's Sushmita Budha, 13, Rolpa Madi-2's Birjana Gharti Magar, 40, Madi-2's Kamal Khadka, 24, Rolpa Municipality-6's Indra Kumar Gharti Magar, 24, and the bus driver Humraj Basnet, 24, a resident of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-12, Dang were also injured in the accident. 

According to the Police, the bus numbered Na 5 Kha 2612 fell nearly 150 meters and crashed in the river. The bus driver has been detained by the Police while the injured passengers have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
