Maoist officials meeting: Briefing of Italy and India visits
KATHMANDU, July 29: A meeting between the officials of the CPN Maoist Centre was held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Saturday today.
Although the meeting was called to decide the agenda for the upcoming Central Committee meeting of the party, no concrete decisions were made in the meeting.
The Prime Minister and the Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', and Vice Chairman Pampha Bhusal gave a briefing about their respective foreign visits.
In his visit to Italy, Prime Minister Dahal participated in the 'Food System Summit' organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome. He departed for Italy on the 22nd of July and returned home on Friday.
Similarly, a team of Maoist leaders led by Pampha Bhusal returned home after a week-long visit to New Dehli at the invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"There was a briefing of the Italy and India visits in the meeting. Both Chairman Prachanda and Vice Chairman Bhusal informed that their visits were successful", Secretary Dinanath Sharma told Ratopati.
He also informed that the agenda for the Central Committee meeting will be finalised tomorrow at 3 o'clock. He remarked that there were discussions about holding a legislative conference in the meeting rather than about a special convention.
