Workers leave for Kuwait after Immigration Office's permission

KATHMANDU, July 19: Nepalese workers have started to leave for Kuwait after receiving permission from the Immigration Office.

On July 12th and 13th, the Immigration Office stopped the workers from flying abroad at Tribhuwan Airport citing suspicious documents.

Manpower companies then protested at the Immigration Office claiming that they stopped the workers without a reason and demanded the resignation of the Director General of Immigration.

The Immigration Department had announced four conditions to grant the departure permit to Nepalese workers. After the announcement, the Foreign Employment Department also alleged that the Department violated its jurisdiction and sent a letter asking to facilitate immigration.

Nepal Foreign Employment Association Secretary General Meghnath Bhurtel has informed that workers have started to leave for foreign countries after the permit.
