Marijuana smuggled at airport using teenage girl

KATHMANDU, July 18: The police have arrested a person on the charge of scamming a girl and making her smuggle marijuana from the airport by "giving her a job". The scammer Faiz Ullah Shah, 27, from Dhobini Rural Municipality-5 in Parsa has been arrested on the charge of dealing marijuana, Narcotics Control Bureau SP Chakraraj Joshi told Ratopati.

Shah had sent the 17-year-old girl to the cargo complex of Tribhuvan International Airport to receive the marijuana that came in a parcel from California. SP Joshi informed that Faiz's involvement was revealed after the girl was arrested on July 16. The Bureau team seized 2 kg of marijuana from the girl.

Faiz Ullah Shah was previously arrested on the charge of smuggling 8 kg of marijuana from California to Kathmandu. He was released on 2023 April after paying a bond of Rs 120,000.
