3 arrested on charge of looting woman's chain

KATHMANDU, July 11: The Lalitpur District Police Range has arrested 3 people for robbing the chain from a woman taking her child home from school.

32-year-old Lolin Kaji Maharjan from Lalitpur Municipality-11 Lukusi, 31-year-old Rabindra Shakya from Lalitpur-7 Sundhara and 33-year-old Rohan Nepali from Naradevi Kathmandu are among the arrested.

The CCTV footage shows the accused robbers stealing the chain from Sarika Kushwaha in Dhobighat Lalitpur and running away. Kushwaha was returning home with her child from school on July 4 when the robbery took place.

The police are investigating the theft and robbery with a deadline of 7 days. Lolin Maharjan is allegedly the main culprit in the incident. Lalitpur SSP Siddhi Bikram Shah informed that their investigation showed a crime style of robbing after getting off their motorcycle and running away on the standby motorcycle-scooter.
