262 kg of marijuana seized in Bara

KATHMANDU, July 1: The police have seized a large amount of marijuana from Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-7 in Bara. 262 kg of marijuana was seized from an Indian numbered truck parked on the Jitpur-Birgunj road section, SP Hobindra Bogati told Ratopati.

Based on various clues, the police stationed at the Simara Area Police Office and the police station Pathalaiya Bara searched the truck. On June 29, the truck driver heading from Makwanpur to Birgunj parked the truck on the Jitpur-Birgunj road. The truck was numbered BR-25 GA 1458.

The marijuana dealer had made a fault button under the roof of the truck and loaded the marijuana. The police investigation revealed that the truck reached Makawanpur to load the marijuana.

SP Bogati informed that the police are searching for the truck driver and the owner. He suspects that the marijuana was to be smuggled to India.
