Death toll from Flood-landslide reaches 7, 28 still missing

BIRATNAGAR, June 19: The death toll from the flood and landslide disaster in the Koshi Province after the heavy rainfall since Saturday night has reached seven. 6 injured have been rescued while 28 people are still missing.

According to the Koshi Province Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, 15 bridges have been damaged and roads have been blocked in 17 places. Similarly, 54 houses were displaced, while 5 hydro powers have been damaged, the Ministry informed.

According to the provincial government, 3 vehicles were swept away by the flood and 32 buildings and houses were completely damaged. 22 houses were partially damaged. Similarly, 74 domestic animals and 84 wild animals and birds have died due to floods and landslides in various places. 

So far, 40 hectares of land in the hilly district have been swept away by the flood.
