This week’s share market: Index rose by 5 percent, over 18 billion turnovers
KATHMANDU, June 17: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has seen an increase this week. The NEPSE index has been continuously increasing after the final decrease on June 5. The index has seen an increase of more than 5 percent this week alone after increasing for 8 consecutive days.
On the last turnover day of last week, the index remained at 1939 points. But the index increased by 102 points and reached 2042 points on the last turnover day of this week. The index has increased by 5.38 percent in a week.
There were more than 18 billion 650 million rupees of share turnover this week. Whereas, last week there was a turnover of 10 billion 300 million rupees. This week, there were turnovers worth 5 billion rupees per day.
With this, NEPSE's market capital has reached 2 trillion 986 billion rupees. The market capital of NEPSE has increased by 150 billion this week. Last week, NEPSE's market capital was 2 trillion 834 billion rupees.
As the index increased by 102 points, there was an increase in turnovers in all 13 groups in NEPSE. Among them, the hotel group increased by 13 percent this week. Investors have flocked to the hotel group after seeing the return in the tourism sector. Similarly, life and non-life insurance groups have also seen excellent growth this week.
