Koshi government presents budget of 36 billion rupees

BIRATNAGAR, June 15: The Koshi Province government has announced a budget of Rs 36 billion for the next fiscal year 2080/2081. The budget was presented by Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki on Thursday.

Out of which, 14 billion 396 million 266 thousand has been allocated for current, 18 billion 235 million 200 thousand for Capital, 10 million for Financial Arrangement and 3 billion 602 million 992 thousand for Financial Transfers at the local level.

The revenue is 4 billion 577 million 850 thousand for the Source, 11 billion 64 million 81 million from Revenue Distribution, 8 billion 783 million 800 thousand from Finance Equalization Grant, 5 billion 843 million 200 thousand from Conditional Grant, 730 million from Supplementary Grant, 76 million from Special Grant, and the remaining amount is 3 billion 750 million and 100 thousand from Savings and 150 million 460 thousand from Foreign Grants.

According to the budget, Rs 2 billion 70 million has been allocated to the Agriculture sector. The government has also allocated 432 million 300 thousand budget for the Industry sector, and 11 billion 410 million for Road Infrastructure Development. 5 billion 430 million has been allocated for Drinking water, Irrigation and Energy sector, and 3 billion 70 million has been allocated for the Health sector. 

Similarly, a budget of 1 billion 790 million has been allocated to the Education and Social sectors. A budget of 1 billion 810 million has been allocated to the Forest and Environment sector, and 970 million to Good Governance.

Lastly, Rs 1 billion 500 million budget has been allocated for the Koshi State Assembly Member Infrastructure.
