Actor Balchhi Dhurbe arrested for promoting online betting

KATHMANDU, June 15: Popular actor Marichman Shrestha "Balchhi Dhurbe" was arrested for promoting online betting on Thursday. 

According to the Office of Criminal Investigation Kathmandu, Shrestha was arrested under the accusation of advertising the "1x bet" app.

Shrestha is known for starring in the comedy series "Meri Bassai" as "Balchhi Dhurbe". He has also worked on "Halka Ramailo" and "Juthe". Both "Halka Ramailo" and "Juthe" were written and directed by him.

15 other actors and Youtubers are also on the arrest list according to the Office.
