UML decides not to take action against Rayamajhi

KATHMANDU, May 9: CPN-UML has decided that party secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is accused of being involved in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees, should help in the investigation according to the law.

The party secretariat meeting held on Tuesday decided that Secretary Rayamajhi should help in the investigation of the incident according to law and order. Although it is expected that UML will take action against leader Rayamajhi, it has backed away from taking action as he is not found guilty yet.

"UML is a party that believes in the rule of law. In this context, Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi should help in accordance with the law," the Party Publicity Department Head, Prithvi Subba Gurung said after the meeting.

In response to the question asked by the journalists about the action to be taken against Rayamajhi, Gurung said that the investigation has not yet reached its conclusion and that Rayamajhi has not been convicted yet. He said that as the investigation is just in the beginning stage, things should not be rushed.
