Ruling coalition meeting: PM will not require retaking vote of confidence
KATHMANDU, May 6: The meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition has concluded that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will not need to retake the vote of confidence. The decision was made in the meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition held on Saturday evening at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.
Hitraj Pandey, the Chief Whip of the Maoist Center, said that even if the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) withdrew its support to the government, the Prime Minister need not take a vote of confidence again. Pandey said that when the Prime Minister took a vote of confidence earlier, RSP had given a vote of confidence, but since they were not participating in the government, the leaders insisted in the meeting that there is no need to retake the vote of confidence.
Similarly, it was also discussed in the meeting to give completeness to the provincial government along with the issues regarding policies and programs for the next financial year.
