Discussion held between Bar Association office bearers and Prime Minister

KATHMANDU, April 13: Office bearers of the Nepal Bar Association held a discussion with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Thursday morning.

Present in the meeting were the Office bearers of the Nepal Bar Association, former office bearers, and various bar presidents and office bearers of the valley.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Prachanda praised the role played by the Bar for the defense of democracy and the constitution and for reforming the justice system.

In the discussion, the bar office bearers drew the attention of the Prime Minister to hold a meeting of the Constitutional Council and appoint a Chief Justice as the Supreme Court has had an acting Chief Justice for 14 months. In response, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to consult with the office bearers of the Constitutional Council and call an immediate meeting to take the initiative to reach the necessary decision.
