Nagarik Unmukti Party on verge of split
KATHMANDU, April 7: The Nagarik Unmukti Party is reportedly facing the possibility of a split, as one of its central committee members, Surendra Chaudhary, is preparing to resign and register a new political party. Chaudhary is expected to make an announcement about his decision during today's central committee meeting.
In a post on his Facebook account, Chaudhary confirmed that he has decided to leave the party and has called on others to be prepared for a new political journey. It is believed that Chaudhary, along with several other leaders, is in the process of forming a new political party called the Samajbadi Nagarik Unmukti Party.
The split comes as a blow to the Nagarik Unmukti Party, which was formed in 2021 with the aim of promoting citizen-centric politics and addressing issues such as corruption and good governance. It remains to be seen how the party will cope with this development and whether it will have any impact on its future prospects.
