HoR by-election: Candidacy nominations open for Tanahun-1

KATHMANDU, April 3: Today marks the start of candidate nominations for the upcoming by-election in Tanahun Constituency 1, scheduled for April 23.

The registration process will take place between 10 am and 5 pm at the office of the chief district election officer in Tanahun district.

To ensure a smooth and fair by-poll, the district election office has announced the mobilization of 760 workforces, with government employee details to be sought for deployment by April 13. The constituency has 69 polling centers and 152 polling stations, catering to a total of 123,305 eligible voters. Each polling center will have a minimum of five employees, with monitoring efforts already underway.

The Election Commission has appointed district judge Komal Prasad Acharya as the chief election officer for the constituency, who has assured that the by-election will be conducted impartially and peacefully. The seat was left vacant after former Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paudel was elected as the third President of federal Nepal.
