Nepali Congress to back JSP in Bara-2 by-election

KATHMANDU, April 2: In a recent development, the Nepali Congress has announced that it will be supporting the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) in the upcoming by-election for the House of Representatives (HoR) to be held in Bara-2.

The decision was made after a meeting of the Nepali Congress party earlier today, where they decided to back JSP candidate Upendra Yadav for the HoR by-election. The move by the Nepali Congress is significant, as it will likely boost the chances of Yadav and the JSP in the upcoming election.

In addition to the JSP and Nepali Congress, three other political parties have filed their candidacy for the election. These include the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janamat Party, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.

The Bara-2 HoR by-election is being held after Ramsahay Prasad Yadav was elected the country’s Vice President.

The support of the Nepali Congress will be a significant boost for the JSP, as the two parties have previously been at odds.

With the support of the Nepali Congress, the JSP will be hoping to secure a victory in the Bara-2 HoR by-election and maintain its representation in the lower house of Nepal's parliament.
