PM Dahal assures victims he will solve problem of metered interest

KATHMANDU, April 1: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has assured the victims of metered interest that he will solve the problem even though the problem is not easy to solve. He claimed to solve the problem of metered interest during discussions with the victims of metered interest at Baluwatar today.

PM Dahal said that the law has become an obstacle to giving justice to the metered interest victims and punishing the perpetrators and that the work for amending the law has already been started. Dahal requested the victims for suggestions on what can be done to make that law effective.

PM Dahal claimed that the Ministry of Home Affairs was placed with the Maoist Center so that it would be easy to solve this problem. Dahal said that Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha is also serious about solving the metered interest problem and that justice for the victims is the priority of the government.

PM Dahal said that moneylenders are found setting up with various structures and employees of the state and that they will be brought to the legal court through the law. He said that the Council of Ministers has decided to form a high-level committee for the matter and assured the victims that the committee will fulfill the 6-point demand they had put forth.
