Nepal as Coordination Bureau Chairman of least developed countries

KATHMANDU, March 8: Nepal has been given the responsibility of the chairman of the 'coordination bureau' of the least developed countries. Through the Fifth International Conference of Least Developed Countries, Nepal got the responsibility of the coordinator.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has informed that Nepal has been given the responsibility of chairing the "Coordination Bureau" of the least developed countries at the conference which started in Qatar's capital Doha on March 5. The official transfer of responsibility will take place during a ceremony at the United Nations a month later.

At the conference, Nepal reiterated its commitment to enter from a least developed country to a developing country by 2026. Nepal has raised the voice that the United Nations, its agencies and all the development partners should help to make Nepal's entry into a developing country easy and secure.
