Nepal votes in Ukraine's favor at UN

WASHINGTON DC, Feb. 24: Nepal has voted in favor of Ukraine in the United Nations resolution calling for an end to the war by condemning Russia's attack on Ukraine. Nepal voted in favor of Ukraine while participating in the emergency special General Assembly held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York on Thursday. 141 out of 193 countries of the United Nations voted in favor of Ukraine. The resolution passed by the General Assembly has appealed to Russia to withdraw its troops and stop the war.

It has been a year since Russia attacked Ukraine and the United Nations has been expressing concern about the global supply problem and the increase in poverty due to food insecurity and inflation. On February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine inhumanely. There have been thousands of casualties till now, but there is no reliable data on how many people lost their lives.

The countries that voted against the UN resolution are Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua, Russia and Syria.
