Govt preparing once again to move forward with citizenship bill

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: The government is yet again preparing to move forward with the citizenship bill.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with the key leaders of the political parties and discussed moving forward with the citizenship bill.
The government is preparing to move forward with around a dozen bills along with the citizenship bill.
Earlier, the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government had endorsed the citizenship bill and President Bidya Devi Bhandari had refused to authenticate the bill calling for a review as per Article 113 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal.
The bill endorsed by the parliament requires the President's seal to become a law.
