Election of Deputy Chairperson of National Assembly on February 6

KATHMANDU, Jan. 27: The election of the deputy chairperson of the National Assembly will be held on February 6. The meeting of the National Assembly held on Friday took a decison to this effect.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, fixed the date of the election of the deputy chairperson for February 6 at 11:59 am. He instructed the Secretary General of the Parliament Secretariat, Dr. Bharat Gautam to publicize the agenda for the election. 
The next meeting of the National Assembly will also be held on February 6 at 11:59 am. After Sasikala Dahal's four-year term as a member of the National Assembly ended last year, the post of the deputy cahir the National Assembly fell vacant. Now the new deputy chairperson will be elected from among the members of the National Assembly.
