21-member HoR Rules Drafting Committee formed

KATHMANDU, Jan. 24: The House of Representatives Rules Drafting Committee has been formed. The resolution was passed unanimously in the House of Representatives meeting held on Tuesday.

The 21-member committee consists of parliamentarians Anita Devi, Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, Gangadhar Chaudhary, Chitra Bahadur KC, Jeevan Pariyar, Dilendra Prasad Badu, Nagina Yadav, Prakash Jwala, Pradeep Yadav, Prem Suwal, Mahesh Prasad Gartaula, Ramesh Lekhak, Lila Nath Shrestha, Vidya Bhattarai, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Sarvendra Nath Shukla, Sita Gurung, Subash Chandra Nemwang, Sovita Gautam, Hitraj Pandey, and Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi. MP Devendra Paudel, the proposer of the proposal, informed that the committee has been instructed to prepare the draft and submit it to the House of Representatives meeting within 15 days.

According to Clause 1 of Article 104 of the Constitution of Nepal, the House of Representatives is required to conduct its work, to maintain the order of the meeting and to regulate the formation of committees, proceedings and procedures of the House of Representatives Committee and also to facilitate other functions of the House of Representatives. The draft committee has been formed especially to meet these criteria.
