Protest demanding justice for Nirmala Kurmi, Police interferes (with pictures)

KATHMANDU, Jan. 23: The police have arrested some rights activists who protested at Maitighar demanding action against the culprits in the kidnapping and murder of a single woman, Nirmala Kurmi. The police arrested Rubi Khan and other human rights activists who were peacefully protesting in Maitighar for the justice of Kurmi. Demanding their release, the rights activists have staged a sit-in before the Supreme Court.
In today's demonstration, the Women's Rights Forum Banke, Great Citizens' Movement, and others participated. They have demanded the implementation of the report of the inquiry committee and the formation of a judicial commission in the case of the murder of Kurmi. They have also demanded to take Kurmi's case to the court.
