Indira Rana Magar files her candidacy for Deputy Speaker of HoR
KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Indira Rana Magar of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party filed her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday.
Rana Magar has been proposed by the MP of RSP Sobita Gautam and supported by the MP of UML Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Narayani Sharma of Maoist, and Rajendra Prasad Lingden of RPP.
In 2017, Rana was included in the BBC's list of inspirational women. She is also the founding president of Bandi Sahayata Nepal. Born in 2027 at Sanishchare-6 in Jhapa, Indira won the Ashok Fellow in 2005 for her social service.
She has also been running a children's home in Nayabazar of Kathmandu, and also in Sankhu, and Khudunabari of Jhapa.
