CPN (US) mulls over supporting PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Newly elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence on January 10.
After CPN ( Maoist Center) joined hands with CPN-UML quitting the alliance with Nepali Congress and CPN (Unified Socialist), it is something to see if the Madhav Nepal-led party supports PM Dahal or not.
As of now, the CPN (US) has failed either to fully support the newly formed government or to stand against it.
After the Nepali Congress refused to stick to previously made agreement, CPN (Maoist Center) quit the alliance and joined hands with CPN-UML which helped Dahal to be the Prime Minister of the country.
“We are currently in discussion to reach a conclusion and decide either to join the government or not. So far, the ruling alliance has not sent any proposal to us to join them,” said Jagan Nath Kathiwada, deputy secretary general of CPN (US).
The party recently held its standing committee meeting and its politburo meeting also kicked off from Tuesday. It has been learnt that most of the members participating in the meeting were in favor of supporting PM Dahal.
Will the CPN (Unified Socialist) support PM Dahal? Well, it is yet to be seen.
