Cambodia-Thailand border: Ten die in fire at a Hotel

CAMBODIA, Dec. 29: Ten people have died in a fire at a hotel in Cambodia. The hotel is known as "Casino Grand Diamond City", which is located in Poipet, a border town between Cambodia and Thailand.
The fire spread on Wednesday at 4:30 pm and there were around four hundred people in the hotel, according to the police.
Videos going viral on social media show people jumping or falling from the top floors. According to local media, many people from Thailand were present at the hotel.
An investigation is going on, on how the fire was caused.
An official of the Thai Foreign Ministry said in a conversation with the AFP news agency that some of the injured were taken to hospitals in Thailand's Sao province.
Poipet city is an important border area between the two countries. There are many famous casinos that are mostly visited by Thai citizens as gambling is often illegal in Thailand.
