Who are the potential ministers from UML?

Oli sticks to the policy of not giving ministerial portfolio to leaders elected under proportional representation category.

With the formation of a new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the discussion on power sharing among the coalition members has begun. CPN-UML, the largest party in the ruling coalition, has already sent four ministers to the government. Under the leadership of deputy chairman of the party, Vishnu Paudel, who has been appointed the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Rajendra Kumar Rai of Dhankuta, Jwalakumari Sah of Baraki and Damodar Bhandari of Baitadi have taken oaths as Ministers without department.

Apart from these, UML has put Padam Giri from Parbat, Vidya Bhattarai from Kaski, Bhagwati Chaudhary from Sunsari, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi from Arghakhanchi, Devraj Ghimire from Jhapa, Raghuveer Mahaseth from Dhanusha and Chabi Lal Vishwakarma from Rupandehi in the list of to be ministers. One of them will be appointed the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament which is very much likely to be Chabilal Vishwakarma.

Out of the seven parties in the power coalition, the RPP and JSP have not been able to decide whether to join the government so far.

Oli's policy of not making proportionate leaders Ministers

UML president KP Sharma Oli has adopted a policy of not giving ministerial portfolio to leaders elected under proportional representation category. .

UML's Chair Oli maintained that the top most priority should be given to those who were successful in defeating their contenders in the election held earlier on November.

If Oli's decision is something to go by, then the desire of Ishwari Vishwakarma (Rijal) of Dolakha to become a minister, seems unlikely to be fulfilled. But if there is pressure from the party, that Dalits should also be represented, and Secretary Chabilal Bishwakarma chose one among the post of Speakers and Ministers, Chabilal might be Oli's choice. In such a case Chabilal can become Speaker and Rijal can become a Minister.
