Disabled-friendly footpaths with greenery in all three districts of Valley

KathmanduKathmandu Valley Development Authority will build disabled-friendly footpaths with greenery in all three districts of Kathmandu Valley.

Information officer of the authority, Engineer Saurabh Dhakal, informed that there are very less disabled-friendly footpaths in the capital, so they are going to make such footpaths.

This program will be started in Bhaktapur municipality of Bhaktapur district. He said that work will be done on the basis of the recommendations made by the city chief regarding which roads are suitable for disabled-friendly footpaths.

Similarly, disabled-friendly footpaths will be constructed in Dakshinkali, Nagarjuna, and Kageshwari Manohara municipalities of Kathmandu as well. According to the authority, the recommendation on which roads of the three municipalities to build these paths will come from the City Chief.

It is said that such a recommendation is coming from the City Chief. Information officer Dhakal said that the recommendation on which road of Lalitpur Metropolitan City to build such a route is yet to come from the City Chief.

Even if the Metropolitan Corporation had previously planned to build such a road in Jawalakhel, it is said that the work there cannot be done because it has been blacktopped already. A budget of Rs. 140 million has been allocated for the construction of disabled-friendly footpaths in all three districts.
