Season of green: Bangles, mehendi, beads and womanhood

KATHMANDU, July 17: Shrawan, the fourth month in the Nepali calendar, marks the beginning of Hindu festivals.

Cosmetic shops are filled with red, yellow and green bangles, pote, tika and henna. 

Women wear bangles, especially green, red, and yellow, with matching colorful dresses. They also fast and worship Lord Shiva.
