CPN-UML directs its lawmakers to attend Friday’s HoR meeting mandatorily
KATHMANDU, July 14: CPN-UML, the main opposition party, has directed all its lawmakers to attend the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting scheduled for Friday.
The party leaders are currently busy holding discussions to finalize the party's candidate for the post of deputy speaker of the lower house. The poll body has asked the parties willing to contest for the post to register names of their candidates on Thursday.
An election of the deputy speaker of the HoR is scheduled for Friday and the UML has directed all its lawmakers not to miss the meeting.
The UML will soon announce the name of its candidate once the ruling alliance finalizes its candidate for the post, according to UML leader Subhash Nembang.
“The party will not contest in the election if the ruling alliance does not file their candidacy for the post,” a UML leader told Ratopati.
However, the ruling alliance has already decided to file a candidacy of Pushpa Bushla for the post.
