Coordinator of St Lawrence College arrested following students protest
Janardan Adhikari, co-ordinator of the college, has been accused of sexually abusing students of grade 11 and 12.
KATHMANDU, May 24: Janardan Adhikari, coordinator of Chabahil-based St Lawrence college, has been arrested after the students staged a protest accusing him of sexually abusing students of grade 11 and 12.
Adhikari, a UML leader, is originally from Kavrepalanchok district.
Investigation is currently underway, according to SP Sudeep Giri of District Police Range, Kathmandu.
According to the students, the college didn’t take any sort of action despite being informed about the incident which forced them to take to the streets.
Adhikari used to treat students of resticating students from the college, if they refuse to sleep with him, according to the students of the college. Besides, Adhikari is accused of feeling sensitive parts of students and forcing them to stay at his house.
Adhikari is also a secondary level social teacher.
