UML obstructs National Assembly meeting
KATHMANDU, May 17: The main opposition party CPN-UML obstructed the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Accusing the Speaker of the lower house Agni Prasad Sapkota and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba of not even making efforts to address the demands of the party, the UML obstructed the meeting.
“We have been compelled to obstruct the meeting since the government seems unwilling to address our demands,” said Dev Gurung, UML leader.
However, the party did not obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday.
The party has been obstructing the House sessions, accusing the Speaker Agni Sapkota of not taking action against 14 lawmakers sacked by the party. The party has also filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court and the case is currently sub-judice at the apex court.
