CPN-UML demands re-election, accuses ruling alliance of hijacking polling booths

KATHMANDU, May 15: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has demanded re-election accusing the ruling alliance of hijacking polling booths during recently held local level polls.

Issuing a press conference on Sunday, the party maintained that the ruling alliance hijacked dozens of polling booths at Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Kavre, Bara, Accham, Bhajang and Rautahat.

CPN-UML has also maintained that seals of ballot boxes were found broken while being taken for vote counts.

The party has also demanded re-election in some of the local units.
