The coalition is pressuring the rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations

KATHMANDU, April 29: Despite the ruling alliance’s decision and directions, party members have filed rebel candidacy for the upcoming local level election in various local levels across the country.

A meeting of the ruling alliance, Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha Party, held earlier this morning has decided to scrap the rebel candidacies and urged the rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations as soon as possible.

Of the six metropolises, three leaders of JSP and NC have filed their rebel candidacies.

Metropolitan City

Pokhara - Bimal Bahadur Karki (NC), Nandu Prasad Tiwari (NC), Rishi Sapkota (NC)

Biratnagar - Umesh Yadav (JSP)

Lalitpur - Subin Shakya (NC)

Sub-Metropolitan City

JSP - Butwal, Hetauda, Dhangadi, Tulsipur, Gohari 

NC - Janakpur

MC - Itahari
