Pokhara, Lekhnath Literary Foundation is to present this year's Lekhnath Literary Award to culture activist and literary figure Dr Jagman Gurung.
The award instituted by the family of Kabi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal's youngest daughter Kunta Devi Bhattarai, carries a purse of Rs 50,000 along with a copper plaque and shawl.
Foundation Chairperson Padma Raj Dhakal shared the information that Dr Gurung is to be honoured with the award in recognition of his substantial contributions to the enrichment of Nepali culture and literature.
Gurung, who was born in Yangjakot of Madi rural municipality in Kaski, has six cultural and research books in his credit.
The award selection committee led by Foundation Adviser and award revolving fund chairperson Dr Shukraraj Adhikari recommended Dr Gurung for the award this year.
