All Nepali nationals in Ukraine are safe: NRNA

At least seven people are known to have been killed in Russian attacks, police say. Another 19 are missing.

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has maintained that all Nepali nationals in Ukraine are so far safe.

Expressing concern over the security of Nepali people in Ukraine, the NRNA on Thursday issued a press statement stating that Nepali nationals there are so far safe.

According to the association, 38 Nepali nationals are currently living in Ukraine and they are all safe.

“All the 38 Nepali nationals are in contact with the Ukrainian government,” the statement further reads.

Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine earlier on Thursday morning.

Russian forces have launched a major military assault on Ukraine, with reports of missile strikes and explosions near major cities. People have been trying to flee the capital Kyiv and there is a palpable sense of shock. At least seven people are known to have been killed in Russian attacks, police say. Another 19 are missing, reported the BCC.
